You Don’t Need a Bigger Push—You Need a Better Pace

New month. New pressure? Not here. This week, I’m offering a reframe for August—one that will help you lead with clarity, not urgency.

You Don’t Need a Bigger Push—You Need a Better Pace

How to Lead Strong Without Running Yourself (or Your Team) Into the Ground

Welcome to August.
It’s that weird spot in the year where half of you is thinking, “Let’s hit the gas and finish strong,”
…and the other half is whispering, “I’m already tired.”

If you’re feeling that tension—between drive and depletion—you’re not alone.
And I want to say something out loud that most leadership conversations skip over:

👉 You don’t have to sprint through the second half of the year to prove you're doing enough.

What if this month wasn’t about acceleration, but about alignment?
Not about doing more, but doing what matters most—with presence, purpose, and maybe even a little margin to think again.

Where Urgency Creeps In (and Why It’s Costly)

I know the feeling:
✔ The Q4 targets start looming
✔ The calendar fills up faster than you can think
✔ That internal voice says, “You should be doing more, faster”

But that urgency? It doesn’t always come from strategy. It often comes from fear.
Fear of falling behind.
Fear of not being seen as “driven enough.”
Fear that rest = weakness.

But leading from fear burns bright—and burns out.

Here’s the Shift I’m Making This Month (Join Me?)

Define the pace you want to lead at—before your calendar defines it for you.
Ask: What’s sustainable for me and my team right now?

Choose impact over intensity.
Not “How much can I get done?” but “What would move the needle most?”

Build breathing room into your leadership.
Margin isn’t a luxury—it’s where your best thinking lives.

Say no with purpose.
No to unaligned meetings, rushed decisions, or false urgency disguised as opportunity.

Grab a sticky note or open a blank doc. Answer:
👉 What do I want to feel more of this month as a leader?
👉 What’s one thing I can let go of to create space for that?

Simple. Subtle. Powerful.

Lead Forward with Purposeful Pace

You weren’t meant to lead like a machine.
You were meant to lead with vision, rhythm, and presence.

Let August be the month you reclaim your pace—not just for yourself but also for the people following your lead.

In Lead Forward!, I share the frameworks that help you move beyond reactive leadership and into intentional momentum.

Here’s to a clear, grounded August. I’ll be back next Monday—same place, same voice, always rooting for you.
